  • We need to talk to the ConSuite Committee. We will have a dedicated room for the ConSuite in our event space. We cannot serve hot food, and we can only do prepackaged snacks. We could have the hotel do catered events in there. They will provide water, hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate.
  • We will have a catered event for the author signing.
  • Zoom meeting for COSine sometime this month.
  • Although the rooms are more expensive, the hotel costs to the club will be less than our previous hotel.
  • We need to inventory and organize the storage locker sometime before the end of the year.

Unfinished Business:

  • Do we want to rent a theatre and see a movie together? Tell Eli if there’s a movie you want to see.
  • Karen nominates: Labyrinth will be released for its 40th anniversary starting January 8, 2027.
  • (Pikes Center is doing a simulcast with live orchestra by the Philharmonic on Oct. 13th. Tickets may be beyond our budget since the cheapest ticket is more than four times our annual dues.)

New Business:

  • Should we post the by-laws on the website? The secretary will send them to Arlen to post.
  • We should also list our legal status on the website.
  • We still need volunteers to go through the state Games Manager training to help run the raffle.
  • Our December book will be the Hugo winner: The Everlasting by Alix Harrow

Announcements:

  • NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope successfully launched on a SpaceX Falcon rocket on Sunday, August 30.
