COSine Science Fiction Convention 2012

January 27-29, 2012, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Join us in Colorado Springs at the foot of Pikes Peak for this gathering of science fiction and fantasy fans, authors, and artists. Our program line-up will include a variety of interesting panels, a great art show, video and animé, dealers room, our annual book raffle, scheduled gaming, an evening dance, and much more. This year COSine is proud to welcome Charles Stross as our Guest of Honor!

Hugo award winning author Charles Stross has published many novels, novellas, and short stories combining elements of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and even a bit of spy thriller. He is also well known among fans for his contributions to the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game, particularly The Fiend Folio. Many of his novels have been nominated for the Hugo. Charles has sixteen books published in the USA, with another scheduled to come out in July of this year, and additional books under contract. COSine welcomes our Special Guests, too!

Attending COSine 2012 will be our Special Guests Connie and Courtney Willis. Connie Willis is an award-winning Science Fiction Hall of Fame author, and Courtney will again host his tremendously popular "Ask Doctor Science" event.

COSine is also proud to announce our Science Speaker - Inge Heyer, PhD. Dr. Heyer is a astronomer and educator who will be hosting several panels and presentations for us.

Events

Cowboys & Aliens Dance

Saturday night will feature a Cowboys & Aliens Dance! Put on your finest old Western duds, or alien fashions, or just come as you are. We'll be doing some square dancing, no experience required!

Art Show

The art show will feature many outstanding science fiction and fantasy artists and will run every day of the convention. Come view and bid on the amazing artwork, hand-crafted pottery, and more! See more details on our Programming page.

Video/Animé

Video programming will feature a selection of science fiction movies and animé and will run for the duration of the convention.

Making it happen!

As always, COSine is run by members of First Friday Fandom. First Friday includes fans with a variety of convention-running experience. Our members hosted SMOFcon 16 here in Colorado Springs, eight previous COSines, numerous KingCons, as well as Denvention 3, the 66th World Science Fiction Convention which was held in Denver in August 2008.
