Book Discussion: Postman by David Brin
Looking forward to Rogue
Postman – another post-apocalyptic novel. Reason for Apocalypse never defined. Heinlein reference – maybe rocks hurled from moon. Possibly post-soccer riots.
What makes this one different?
Everyone eager for uniform-
Wise AI is wizard of oz fraud
It holds up over the years.
Internally consistent – much more in-depth than movie
What movies are better than the book?
Lost to Enders Game. Maybe would have won in a weak year.
Kent moderated panel for Hugo categories – length for novels and novellas and novelettes.
Price of ebooks more than paper books. Amazon doesn’t care.
Amazon really is messed up.
